Check engine light? 1999 VW Passat?

So, I was wondering, I went to go fill up my 1999 Passat today and it was fine, I went to drive away and all the sudden my check engine light came on. It is up to date on everything, I need an oil change, but that's about it.

So I brought it to O'Riley's and they did a diagnostic test, and it came up with the code Po441 or P0441. I couldn't figure out if it was a zero or an "O". It came up as an emissions thing.

So, I was wondering, is it worth taking it in? Could it be the gas cap? I plan on getting my oil change tomorrow, so.

    Any advice?

Drive on. It could be the gas cap but if it isn't running any differently then no worries unless you have to pass an emission test. A new gas cap could be a good idea anyway. A 1999 is 15 years old. The rubber ring in the cap that seals to the tank filler pipe is probably hard, cracked and leaking by now.
