    What's the difference between a sci-fi and a fantasy?

I never know the difference and would very much like to!

Science fiction involves space ships, other galaxies and planets, alien creatures, and phasers and lasers. Think 'Star Trek' and 'Star Wars'.

Fantasy involves ogres and goblins and dragons, elves and dwarves, and swords and bows and armour. Think 'Lord of the Rings'.

Simply put, sci-fi is what can happen, and fantasy is what can't happen.

Sci-fi deals with technology that could be possible in the future. Fantasy deals with things that are impossible, such as magic and gods.
