Problem with my 2005 Nissan 350's gear shift lights not lighting up.?

It is a 5at and I was trying to get my sub working again... I still haven't.. But I pryed up the price of trim around the shifter as the first step to get behind the radio head unit and get a look at the wires to maybe fix my sub. But as soon as I lifted the silver trim price off.. The P, R, N, D lights just shut off ! And I cannot for the life of me get them to come back on... Yes, I reinserted the trim almost immediately and stopped there. Plz help ! Quickly!
