I wonder if anybody could tell me how to tighten or adjust the timing belt for my 1999 Acura TL 3.2L. I had it installed last week. That time, I drove the car for a couple days, and the belt loosened. The belt came off the pulley the car stalled at that moment. Please, thank you.

I hope you're talking about the serpentine belt and not the timing belt because if the timing belt came off when the engine was running, you now have valve damage because your car has an interference engine.

Oh man... the guy forgot to tighten the springy idler wheel in place.

In order for the belt to be the correct tension, they put in an idler wheel with a strong spring on it, and some securing bolts to keep it exactly in place after the belt is installed.

Often times, someone will change the belt and FORGET to bolt down the idler/tensioner. You're lucky you discovered this before it FELL OFF!
