    Can a parakeet eat a green bell pepper?

    Trying to find new vegetables for my parakeets.

    Yes, absolutely. As for the seeds----my birds love, love, love them. The usually eat the seeds and leave the fleshy part.

    Yes, but not sure if the seeds too. Just in case I don't give my birds the seeds.
    Nice work with your birds diet. A lot of people don't know how important is a varied diet for a bird. I have lovebirds and I feed them a diet of 80% pellets and 20% vegetables, fruits and seed. I searched for your type of bird specifically, because I wasn't sure they could eat the same veggies but it turns out their diet is the same. Mine really like the bell peppers and I hope yours too.
    Here is a list to help you:

    -Vegetables:
    Corn or Sweet Corn
    Coriander Leaves
    Carrot Pieces
    Petite peas
    Carrot Granules
    Celery Stalk & Leaf
    Parsley Flakes
    Green Beans
    Spinach Flakes
    Green & Red Bell Peppers
    Broccoli, Zucchini
    Soy Bean
    Echinacea Augustifolia
    Dandelion Leaf
    Red Clover blossoms
    Papaya Leaf
    Oat Straw
    Peppermint Leaf
    Calendula Flowers
    Red Raspberry Leaf,
    Alfalfa
    Fennel Seed
    Thyme Leaf
    Rose Hips
    Rosemary Leaf
    Basil Leaf
    Spinach, chard, and bok choy should be given in limited amount as they contain high amount of oxalate.

    -Fruits:
    Make sure you avoid giving food with seeds to them. You can remove the seeds from some fruits and give it to them, this applies to apple, orange and some other fruits.

    Orange
    Apple slices (without seeds)
    Water Melon
    Coconut shred
    Mango Pieces
    cherries
    banana
    mandarin
    Sweet corn

    -Food to Avoid:
    Tobacco
    Caffeine
    Chocolate
    Cheese
    Butter
    Raw Bins
    Plums, Peach and Apricot
    Rhubarb leaves
    Nutmeg
    Tomato
    Potato
    Green tomato
