I put a DVD in my macbook yesterday, except it didn't really go in properly and now I can't get it out! I think it's really far in as I can't feel it with a credit card. My computer isn't recognising the disk and won't let me eject it. I've tried restarting holding the trackpad and that didn't work...

Is there anything else I can try before taking it to an apple store?

PLEASE ignore the two PC guys.

Click to restart and immediately press and hold the click for 45 seconds. Do you know where to press to click? OK, then that is where you press and hold.

If the DVD was warped or broken, you can try tweezers or forceps. If you are good with using tiny screwdrivers, open the case to remove the DVD. If you are not good with that sort of thing, do not try it. Take it to a shop.

Next time, do the "table test": Lay the DVD ion the table. If it looks warped, toss it.

If that was a Windows (or Linux) laptop, I would recommend you to simply use a knife and carefully pry the tray open.

But since it's a Mac and the hardware is "delicate" and expensive, take it to an apple store instead.
