NRA's argument that since goo? since good citizens are the only ones who undergo background checks , we don't need strict background checks ?
Does NRA not understand what the --PURPOSE-- of background check is ? How can you know if the person is "good" or "bad" without running background check ? NRA thinks we should just sell guns to everyone because according to them everyone who TRIES TO BUY GUNS ARE(and will be,even with no background check) a law abiding citizen....with no mental conditions or past violent criminal record.
Do you agree with them ?

P.S.
LaPierre himself did not say this.It was some other woman who represented NRA during CNN debate.I listened to her ridiculous arguments for 4 minutes and couldn't take that anymore.
@Corrine: If you read my question fully you would understand what I'm talking about and what the question is.The question is not about one Fox anchor. The question is whether you agree with what NRA's representative said ?

Your argument for gun control is "one Fox News anchor"?!

What if Rachel Maddow didn't support gun control....would you change your stance?!

We already require background checks to get a firearm and obviously they aren't working because criminals and crazies still get them!

What is the magic of background checks?

Will making them stricter make the government do the job they were supposedly already doing?

Will making them stricter finally keep guns out of the hands of criminals and the crazy?!

I,m willing to listen to rational comments and ideas. Convince me!

So you tell us watching Fox News is stupid then tell us we should agree with Fox News?

it,s hilarious to think a government data base on legal citizens is going to prevent crime. doesn,t any one understand that this is a slope to gun confiscation during crisis. look at katrina. police went door to door confiscating legally owned firearms. it,s easier to criminalize honest citizens than it is to find criminals. a background check without a permanent data base works, and well. if this country can import illegals and drugs, do you think guns will be an issue?

Moral panic has once again gripped the nation. People buy large quantities of guns legally, passing the background checks then drive to another state and resell them in "private sales" with no background checks. What about "Operation Fast and Furious"? The government putting guns in the hands of drug cartels?

Background checks, like door locks, keep honest people honest. The crooks steal them or buy them in the resale market.

I think the nra should be more flexible and admit that any guns and guns for all is not a great idea. if they worked with their critics and meet them in the middle we might just make things a little better. but no.. it's black or white with them. background checks should not only thorough but monitored so these so called good people cant sell to people who wont pass a check. if you are a "responsible, law abiding" gun owner, you should be happy to comply if it makes things that much safer.

But Chris Matthews is a flaming homosexual. So take that you..you...AUTISTIC PERSON. nyah, nyah, nyah.

Are libs really going to let illegals, blacks, hispanics, criminals, have their backgrounds investigated? Come on. These people by definition don't have a background because the government doesn't know they exist and they carry plenty of guns.

ACLU will be all over this when background check requires access to medical information especially medical information protected by HIPPA
