Have any sattelites been damaged or destroyed by meteorites?

With the amount of space dust and larger impacting the earth daily, some damage must have happened.

Yes. But we only know of them as failing satellites and the few samples of material brought back by the shuttle. However, despite how many thousands of satellitles that we have up there, it's a very very very small fraction of the space and an actual impact is still very improbable.

Hi I am here at your service to help you at with this tough question! I LOVE answering questions about space. Let me tell you a mini paragraph about Earth. Well, one day, scientists thought that Earth's axis used to be so straight then a meteor went right into Earth and made a big whole. It was WAY LONG ago and Earth's axis is tilted to the right instead of perfectly straight because the thought that it all started with the meteor. If you are still unsure about your question I recommend wikipedia or www.eyesonthesky.com. Have a nice day
