My boyfriend and I argue too much?

We have a long distance relationship. We see each other once a month. We tend to argue a lot but always manage to want each other. We argue every other day. It gets really hard because of the distance and the fact that he is always working. I just don't know what to do. I care too much to leave and I want to do everything I can to work it out. This arguing is too much. Help?
