Tennessee didn't beat Missouri Saturday, but it did have one gutsy call that could have proven the difference.

In the second overtime — the teams played four overtimes with Mizzou winning 51-48 — Tennessee lined up for a field goal, but holder Tyler Drummer took the snap and ran it in for a 5-yard score. At the time it put Tennessee up 42-35 and it was probably the smartest call of the final couple minutes of fourth quarter and overtime.

During the final minutes of regulation, Tennessee left Missouri receiver Dorial Green-Beckham wide open to catch the game-tying touchdown with 47 seconds remaining. Missouri's subsequent kickoff was a pooch kick, which gave the Vols excellent field position and opportunity with two timeouts remaining.

But instead of trying to get into field goal position, Tennessee coach Derek Dooley decided to have his team walk off the field and ready for overtime. As the team walked off the crowd booed.

It wouldn't be the last time Dooley would opt not to try a field goal.

In the fourth overtime, with the Vols facing fourth-and-3 from the Missouri 18, Dooley elected to go for the first down instead of putting points on the board. The fourth down failed and Missouri ran three conservative plays to set up a 35-yard field goal to win the game.

There was a little bit of god and a lot of bad for Tennessee on Saturday. To say Dooley's job is in trouble after this loss would be an understatement.
