Bell Gargoyles soloable in Dark Souls?

All of my buddies keep telling me to give up the ghost and summon a player or an NPC to help fight the first two Bell Gargoyles you encounter in Dark souls but I'm stubborn damnit. So, has anyone had any luck soloing these guys? I mean, they aren't even close to the hardest boss in the game. Should I just give up and summon someone?

I did it, what you need to do is fine the "gold resin" or something of that sort and apply it to your weapon, go straight for the gargoyals tail and you should be able to kill the first gargoyal in about 6 hits, the second one is easy peasy, took me about 5 tries =)
