At the 2008 Olympics, Michael Phelps couldn’t be beaten. In his first event in the 2012 Olympics, Michael Phelps proved that he’s indeed human. In the 400 IM, Phelps finished in fourth place. The gold medal winner in the event was fellow American Ryan Lochte.

Said Phelps: “It’s frustrating, that’s all I can say. It’s pretty upsetting,”

As for Lochte, he was excited with the win.

“There’s no better way to start this Olympics off than getting gold,” said Lochte.

He added: “This is my year. I know it and I feel it, because I’ve put in hard work. I’ve trained my butt off for four years.”
