The New York Jets have traded for Tim Tebow, the fan favorite quarterback who exploded onto the NFL scene last year with the Denver Broncos. After signing Peyton Manning, the Broncos decided to part ways with Tim Tebow and the Jets decided they wanted to add him to their mix.
While he’s a talented player and a winner, the Tim Tebow trade was a bad one for the Jets. First of all, the trade will put even more pressure on Mark Sanchez. All it will take is a couple interceptions before fans in New York will be calling for Tim Tebow to start.
Nobody wants to admit it but Tim Tebow is going to start one way or another for the Jets. The fans simply won’t live with Mark Sanchez’s mistakes. They’ll cry and cry and cry until they get Tim Tebow. Just watch and see.
Which brings up another reason why the trade was bad: Tim Tebow just isn’t very good. Yeah, he can scramble a little bit. But in the NFL, you need your quarterback to be able to throw the ball. Tim Tebow, for all his talents, simply can’t throw. He has poor arm strength and isn’t accurate.
The Jets collapsed last year largely due to having to deal with too many distractions. By trading for Tim Tebow, the Jets just traded for the motherload of distractions.
