I have a friend who complains about a chip?

I have a friend who claims he has a chip put in his head. Is there such thing as that? Like a certain device that knows where you are, knows what you see and hear??? Or does he just suffer from being a schizophrenic? But even if he is a schitzo, is there still such thing as these types of devices, it does sound interesting!!

They have it for animals. As far as I know they have not used them on people. Ask him if he has read "The Left Behind" series and that may be it. Or something like that.
