I would love to upgrade my blackberry from OS 5 to one of the newer blackberry operating systems. I was wondering if it's possible to upgrade to OS 6 or 7 and if so how1 Thanks

No you cannot, sorry....that's for newer faster models only.
The 8520 and 8530 are late 2009 models....OS 5 is as high as they go.
