...should go to complain? I live in Toronto Canada. I am a new house owner. There was a tree in neighbors property close my house. They are building a new house in their property for that they are cut that tree. While cutting the tree they damaged my roof. So I don't know where I should complain for that? City of Toronto or Insurance or Lawyer? Please suggest.
 
I would go to them first and let them know that the people cutting down the tree damaged your roof and ask them to notify their home owners insurance company (get the name of the company so you can follow up on this). If they do not want to do this, then simply contact an attorney and sue them.
 
Insurance, they might go after the neighbor and you just sit back and relax, but your insurance price might go up
 
I would call the tree company and then maybe sue the company or person for destruction of property If they refuse to pay
