Repair scratches while cleaning Stainless Steel Vent?

Hi!

I made a stupid mistake by trying to clean my kitchen hood vent with Bar Keepers Friend. You can see the results in the link below.

Am I doomed? I read online of using the purple and grey pad to "re-grain" the finish. Thoughts anyone?
