I just went through the process of unlocking my iphone using instructions on you tube. Everything seems fine. I just don't have a sim card to check if it worked. In the about section of the settings the old provider is still there.
Without sim card how can you check whether your iPhone is unlocked or not ? Get another network sim card and insert in to your iPhone, if it asks for network lock password, you can found that your iPhone is still not unlocked properly.
