9 random questions about some musicians (rock and alt rock)?

1- What are your thoughts on Morissey's personality?

2- What's the greatest quality of Jim Morisson in your opinion?

3- (It's not gonna happen, but...) How would you feel if Roger Waters, David Gilmour and Nick Mason made an album together under the name of Pink Floyd?

4- How great do you think it would be if Kevin Shields and Elizabeth Fraser released albums as a duo?

5- Had Ian Curtis survived, how different Joy Division would've been than New Order in your opinion? Would they be much greater?

6- Robert Smith has said many times that he doesn't consider his band to be Goth. Why do think many people insist on labeling them so?

7- How anxious are you about Leonard Cohen's upcoming album "Old Ideas"?

8- Do you have to be an American to enjoy Bruce Springsteen's works?

9- Are you a fan of Frank Black's solo material? how would you rate them?

    have a good time...

    1) It's over-scrutinized and his fans owe it to him to leave him alone about it. That won't happen, today being today, and so I wish him the strength and insight to find peace in the wake of the constant scrutiny.

    2) His lyrics.

    3) Pretty happy, IF they toured. I don't expect it would hold up against their catalogue. I feel dumb for not seeing that brief reunion of the four classic members in my city, before Rick Wright died, but that was before I really cared about concerts.

    4) That would be fantastic IF they were truly inspired to do so.

    5) I like Joy Division better than New Order, but they're both great. I expect I would've liked more Joy Division better than New Order, but it didn't work out that way, the guy made his choice and I wish him peace.

    6) Why do folks label King Crimson prog or Motörhead metal?

    7) I honestly didn't know about it. I wouldn't say I'm anxious, I would say I'm happy for his fans, and I hope it's a good listen.

    8) Never thought about it. His music does have a distinctly American quality, doesn't it? I'm Canadian, and I enjoy his music from time to time.

    9) Never heard it. I'm sure it's amazing.

    1. No thoughts.
    2. That voice.
    3. Wouldn't care.
    4. Don't know who they are.
    5. Didn't like either.
    6. They're goth to me. I don't insist; just saying.
    7. Not at all. I like his oldest stuff and the rest has been uneven.
    8. I don't think so. Music's universal.
    9. I've tried so hard to get into it, bought a couple of them, and just can't listen to it. It's like breaking up the Beatles; nothing is ever as good. But Kim Deal's stuff is better than Frank Black's.

    1. A prat in the way he treats other people. A genius when it comes to his work with The Smiths. BTW it is Morrissey

2.His ability to make things seem poetic

3.If it is going to be as awesome as The Wall and Dark Side Of The Moon, hell yeah. But I've had too many reunions spoiling the broth. I'd rather not have them come together and do a mediocre album.

    4. My Bloody Valentine + Cocteau Twins....interesting prospect.

    5. Joy Division would still have produced amazing music and their music would have eclipsed New Order's.

    6. No Idea why they do that

    7. Waiting with bated breath(hope he does a great album this time around)

    8. No.Music transcends race,boundaries.

    9. I prefer Pixies. I do like his solo album but the band's work is more brilliant and more interesting than the solo work.

    1- Sigh....
    2- His sense of humor
3- I would cry tears of joy
4- I'd rather have a new MBV album
5- Joy Division wouldn't be as well liked as they are.
    6- Because of their looks
    7- Intrigued
8- No, you have to be a Blue Collar American
9- Yes and no, I'd much rather see him with the Pixies 7/10

1- What are your thoughts on Morissey's personality?

I don't care much about "personality" in music. Morrissey has both likable and dislikable traits.

2- What's the greatest quality of Jim Morisson in your opinion?

His ability to consume LSD. When he switched to booze, it was all downhill.

3- (It's not gonna happen, but...) How would you feel if Roger Waters, David Gilmour and Nick Mason made an album together under the name of Pink Floyd?

It would be an embarrassment, like all rock reunion albums are.

4- How great do you think it would be if Kevin Shields and Elizabeth Fraser released albums as a duo?

    Not as good as MBV.

5- Had Ian Curtis survived, how different Joy Division would've been than New Order in your opinion? Would they be much greater?

They are already much greater than New Order. But neither are much my cup of tea.

6- Robert Smith has said many times that he doesn't consider his band to be Goth. Why do think many people insist on labeling them so?

Because of the makeup, and the sound.

7- How anxious are you about Leonard Cohen's upcoming album "Old Ideas"?

Not at all, although I'm glad old Leonard is still plugging away as he nears 80.

8- Do you have to be an American to enjoy Bruce Springsteen's works?

I think you need to be from the New Jersey tri-state area.

9- Are you a fan of Frank Black's solo material? how would you rate them?

No, too many others to listen to. What I heard wasn't bad, but didn't grab me either.

    1. Never met him.
    2. His voice.
    3. I'd have to listen to it first.
    4. I don't know. What genre would you have them do?
    5. They probably would've converted to new wave, since most of those post-punk bands at that time did.
    6. Probably has something to do with his trick-or-treat make-up.
    7. Not too much.
    8. Of course not.
    9. Nah, he was better while in the Pixies.
