Can you use indoor vent kits with any electric dryer?

I do not have an outdoor vent for my dryer, so I bought an indoor vent kit. The booklet from the Whirlpool said that the dryer needs to be vented outside, but it's not possible. The packaging for the vent kit says that it can be used with any electric dryer. Also, my dryer is in the basement and when it's running, the floor under the dryer is damp.

That is a difficult situation. You can certainly try it as it should be better than no venting at all. Check with the manufacturer as well.
