What are some good recreation places for 2 year old's during the winter?

Now someone I know has a 2 year old son, who enjoys wide open spaces. He needs somewhere to be (besides a daycare) during the winter, without a parent. Prefferably without a parent and wide open space for him to run around. Looking for something in Nothern New Jersey/ Bergen County New Jersey.
