    The iPhone 3gs does not use a micro sim. As long as the phone is not upgraded to iOS 5, it can be unlocked.

    *** iPhone 3GS Unlocking to T-Mobile HELP ME!***?

    I'm getting the iPhone 3GS And im with T-Mobile.. I've heard about their MICRO SIMS but they only offer those to NEW customers... Crazy, right?!! Well if i cant do that then what will i do to be able to use the iPhone on my service? Please help me, anything will be appreciated!)

    i would reccomend going to verizon att or sprint since they offer iphones now. i would suggest that because they have better rates and plans and tmobile rips off everyone and if u explain ur situation to sprint or verizon they should hook up ur 3gs but im not sure for verizon because they use cda memory which means they dont use sim cards.
