Going on a carnival cruise and I have a question about alcohol?

Im going on a carnival cruise this thanksgiving and I wanted to know which types of alcohol should I bring aand how much? I just dont know what kind of soft drinks I'll be able to buy on the ship so thats why I'm asking??? Vodka??? Gin??? Just I bring big bottles or a bunch of personal sized 4 oz shots??? Or just I just bring beer???

One 750 ml bottle of wine per person over 21 - that's it. No hard liquor period. Bags are screened, too.

As for water or soda, each passenger is allowed one 12 pack of soda (12oz cans) or 12 bottles of water (16.9). You must carry the drinks on board - if you put them in a cooler, it must be soft sided and can be no larger than 12x12x12. Any larger and it will be tossed and drinks in your checked luggage will be tossed as well.....
