    can i use any modem or router for telus?

    telus is my isp and i want to know can i use my own router or modem?

    That's a Canadian ISP isn't it?

    I would have thought they would be the same as all the others now
    in the fact you can only use the modem they supply on their system.

    That's because they contain a chip that their system recognises.

    In other words no you can't use someone else's modem.

    Routers are a different thing. They share the connection between
    several computers etc on one connection in a house.

    However if it's a modem/router combined the that same applies
    as above because that will carry a system chip in it.
