3 friends traveling in a bus fair is $70 for three of them, each of them pays $25 total becomes $75 the bus man returns $1 each, and the remaining $2 keeps himself , now each one has contributed $24. now if we add 24+24+24=72 and the 2 which bus man kept 72+2=74 where did the remaining $1 go?

You wouldn't add 2, because the 2 has already been added to get 72. There fore you are creating an illusion that the 1 dollar is missing. You take 75 and take the two away and get 73 then take the three away and get 70.

$25 + $25 + $25 = $75
Gets $3 returned, and the driver keeps $2. The friends get $1 back each.
2 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 5
70 + 5 = $75

There is no missing dollar.

What happened in the question was poor math.
now if we add 24+24+24=72 and the 2 which bus man kept 72+2=74
In $72, the amount the bus driver kept is already included (70 + 2 = 72)
What you really needed to add to make it add up to $75 was the $3 that each man received back to them, so that it is $25 + $25 + $25.
