    home theater system setup?

i have a home theater preamp/sub plugged into my computer, rated at 6 ohms per channel, but i'm running 8 ohm resist speakers with it, its sounds fine, but are there any dangers i should worry about?
the entire set up is cheap, got it all for like 12 bucks, good will, but i'd rather not blow it all, or blow a fuse, or whatever could come of it.

    just wondering

Using a higher resistance speaker will reduce the power of the system. If you operate at high volume you could burn out the amplifier in the system. Hope this will help you out.

You will be fine, lower numbers mean more draw. At any given voltage drive level, a 4? (ohm) speaker will draw twice as much current as will an 8? speaker. Since you are running a 8? amp with 6? speakers, you will actually be drawing less current then your amplifier can handle. This may lead to you speakers lacking bass, or sounding poor at high levels, but you will not risk any damage to either the speakers or the amp.
