How would I ask this girl for her number without seeming too creepy/ desperate lol?

So I am in my first year of university and there is a girl on my residence floor that I am very interested in. Each floor has it's own lounge that the ppl from our floor hang out in and I talk to her every night (well seeing as it has only been 2 weeks since the beginning of semester it hasn't been that long). Anyways it is obvious to me (and other people, as I ahve been confirmed) that she seems a little interested in me. Also, I am interested in her. Anyways, I don't want to seem desperate (as I always do! lol) but I want to get her number because seeing as we usually have night classes very late (like till 930pm) we only see each other for an hour a day (more or less). Seeing as I see her so Not often, it would seem awkward/ creepy if I straight up asked for her number. So as a drunk man talking to you, what is a good, casual, non creepy way to ask a girl for her number (given my circumstance)?

Get her number AFTER you've had a nice first date, usually very relaxed, with her. Make it a short date where you two get together at a local coffee shop and just talk a bit.

Somewhere near the end, if you happen to like what you see and hear, ask her if she'd be comfortable giving you her number so you can set up another date soon.

It's not as hard as you think. The hard part is getting up enough courage to ask her out to that coffee shop.......

I would say after having a conversation tell her 'I've really liked talking with you, would you mind giving me your number so we could talk again sometime?" Just be genuine and avoid cheesy pickup lines
