What is an ideal weather and time for bunny hunting?

So I'm into fishing alot but not as much hunting so can you guys answer me a couple of questions

1. When is the season to hunt rabbits in california and when is the best time like weather and time of day?

2. When do bunnies spawn?

3. Do I need a hunting license if I'm 14 and if not when will I need one?

4. Ways to prepare bunny?

I don't like saying rabbits

1. season is from july 1st to last day in January(January 29th for this season)
weather? cloudless with low wind, no rain either
time of day? dawn and dusk

2. (spawn? I think you mean breed, they breed in the spring, the reason the season starts in july, since the young are grown up and on their own by this time

3. this is amazing, I can't find anything on age requirements or limitations, California has a horrible booklet for hunting. sorry

4. just treat it like chicken, soak it in brine(salty to where more won't dissolve in the water) for a few hours before cooking to get rid of the blood in the meat and the gaminess, rinse before cooking. as said, treat it like chicken.

PS: if you meant Jack Rabbits, they're open season all year long and follow everything else said above.

1) when its cold and there is snow on the ground.
2) no they dont spawn, fish spawn animals breed . the gestation period (breeding to birthing) for a rabbit is 28-31 days so they can have a litter and before they are weaned she can have another litter.
3) yes you need a hunting license and chances are you might need an adult as well

4) liked pulled or bbq pork. makes it tender and tastes incredible
