Player D. This pitcher would be in the top 10 in Cy Young voting.

Player C; Those are outstanding stats for any player, let alone a rookie.

First, we get rid of meaningless information. Runs, RBIs and win-loss are team stats.. not player stats.

    A) .267 BA and 35 HRS
    C) .320 BA and 26 HRS

Assuming they both walked at the same rate.. played C had the better season.

    B) 3.27 ERA 252 strikeouts 29 starts
    D) 2.97 ERA 189 strikeouts 30 starts

Strikeouts are nice.. but they're just another way to get an out. player D gave up less runs per inning.

A good year by a position player is usually more valuable than a good year by a starter.. so player C gets it.

Player C and D have awesome stats for a rookie. It just depends on how you look at it. If you are a pitching based organization like the Giants, you would take Player D, however a hitting team like the Rangers, you would take Player C.

[Player A is probably on roids, or Dan Uggla's rookie season.]

For all of these you have to take in consideration for ABs and IPs. I would go with Player C, great Numbers.

To me it's between C and D. 35 HRs is amazing by a rookie, but the whole 53 points lower is too much to overlook for just 9 homers. Although not necessarily fair, I'd lean towards C simply because he is an everyday player.

Where is the guy with 45 saves, a sub 2 ERA, and a crazy amount of strikeouts?
