My LG DVD player won't turn on?

I was watching a DVD in the morning, and it skipped a couple times then just paused and wouldn't play again. I turned it off, planning to turn it back on, but it didnt. I tried to use the remote to stop the movie (you could still see what part it was up to on the DVD player) and it didn't. I tried to open the DVD player, but it still doesnt do it.
I tried to turn it off at the DVD player, not the remote and it still didnt do anything. Is it broken? what should I do?
