Should man try to judge God according to his own -though limited- human nature?

Believers always play by the double standard: if something good happens, it's because of (1) God's infinite love. But if something bad happens: (2) God's mysterious.
Shouldn't we finally cut this dialectical prestidigitation, and judge God from the perspective of our so-called limited human nature? There's still suffering involved, and given God's omnipotence and infinite love, He has a lot of explaining to do.

Why ask a question pertaining to God when the concept of God is by far inconsistent, self-contradictory and illogical?
