Electronic gadgets sometimes have really weird verbiage in their on-screen messages and menus. Maybe because they were probably manufactured in a foreign country?

Anyway, my guess is "Hunt" means that it is looking for (Hunting for) a signal, or is trying to find the channels that are available, trying to program itself.

If it's been sitting there like that for a long time (Over 15 minutes) something is wrong. Check that it is connected correctly. I believe Comcast has a technical support or helpline. Call them if you can't get it working. They should have provided you with some documentation.
