why were so many people so interested in the O.J. Simpson case?

remember back in 1995...there were people that just watched it ALL DAY...and was thinking it was a bit sick minded..but do you agree?

what is the reasons or psychology of people that watched it all day and why , how develops this way?

how common ? and what are other examples of this?
