Is there anyway to trace an anonymous formspring question?

hey, there is someone on formspring spreading rumors , posting messages, but not on my account but one everyone elses. I know there are lots of very clever people on the internet and i was wondering if anyone knows how to trace the questions? like could you get their ip adress and is it illegal to trace ip's?

You cannot get the IP address of a common person so easily. Even though if you manage to get the IP address of the person, you can't do anything with it. All you can do is find the basic geographical location and ISP detail of the IP address through any IP lookup sites like httIP-Details.com If you are really facing any problem with the specific IP, You can make a complain to the police.
