Weird, interesting science-related topics?

OKay, so I have to write a paper on any topic of my choice, long as it's somehow science related.

Ghosts, vampires, UFOs... the whole shi-bang are acceptable to my teacher, except I don't want to do the same repetitive topic everyone else is doing. So, guys, any ideas?

That's too bad, because there's no science at all behind ghosts, vampires, UFOs, or any other paranormal claim, and any decent science teacher would realize that and fail you if you weren't discriminating enough in your selection of reliable sources to figure that out. You'd just end up debunking it. How about parasites? Those definitely exist, and there are tons of weird, gross ones you can talk about.
