Blackberry Curve stuck in alt mode?

The alt symbol is at the top right of the phone, and it wont let me do anything, i cant enter my password or anything. Ive done the battery pull, doesnt work.

What i did was, and it worked straight away For the blackberry curve, You press and hold the 'alt' button, and then press enter, and select the appropriate language, thats what i did and it turned 'alt mode' off
