...important is tha sensor? The sensor is VTC solinoid Variable timing control solinoid, what does this sensor do? I ripped the wire by accident; now the check engine soon light in side the car is on, I wanna know if I dont replace this sensor will it ruin my car? Also, what does this sensor do?

The variable timing sensor in newer engines is used to adjust the timing. The circuit is crucial to fuel mileage. It will advance/retard the spark and/or injector timing to make the engine run better and thus attain better fuel mileage. My recommendation is to replace or repair the wire as soon as possible.
