How to fix computer volume control?

My computer has a problem that it always freezes whenever I press the volume button a few times(always random)but it only happens when I press the volume buttons that are on the keyboard.If it means anything,I'm using a laptop

you will need to re-install the keyboard driver from the recovery disk supplied by the manufacturer. For some reason it is not working right anymore,
Did you install Real Player then uninstall and go back to windows media player? IF so, that could be the problem.
