My cockatiel is normally very sweet and well behaved. However, we recently moved, and we were so busy that he didn't get as much attention as he was used to. One day, he figured out that if he screamed very loudly, we would rush over to try and quiet him. I know that this wasn't the right thing to do any probably encouraged his screaming, but we have very close neighbors in the new place, and we didn't want any noise complaints. Now he has learned that he can scream and we will come running. The obvious thing to do would be to not give him attention when he is loud and praise him for being quiet, but we are afraid that if we ignore him and let him scream our neighbors will complain. Any other suggestions?
