Is it legit now to update the blackberry os and is it slow?

I want to buy a blackberry 9700 and update the os to the latest version.

Is it legal/legit to update now and does it become slower to use?

Are you updating to an official Blakberry OS or some other one?

If its a legit version then ask the dealer from where you got the phone itself to update the OS to the latest one.
Its completely legit to update the OS of phones .In fact the reason they put the updates is so to improve and resolve bug fixes and stuff like that
If you are updating to some non-official OS ,its not like they ll do anything to you for doing that but its not safe as it can screw up the phone
