I have recently moved into a rented flat and I find that the smoke alarm sounds even if I fry some bacon, does this mean that there will be no more grilled chops or roasted chickens ? I had a smoke alarm in my own house ( another story that ) and in the end I took the battery out of it ( to use for something else ) and I threw the b... thing out with the rubbish...and the house didn't burn down !
