Did Arthur Miller ever include an essay or some prologue about early 20th century culture to the play Death of a Salesman? I'm writing a paper on Gatsby and my English teacher felt my thesis reminded him of something like this, and recommended it as a possible source of ideas. But I'm struggling to find this and its been awhile, so I'm not sure if I remember exactly what it was I was looking for, though i believe it is an essay by Miller and at the very least i know he said it was a prologue to Death of a Salesman.

Much thanks for any help you can provide.
