I was wondering in backyard basketball, do you have to clear the ball if the ball...

...hits the rim or backboard? We were playing backyard basketball and I was wondering the basketball hit the backboard do you have to clear it still or is it only if it hits the rim you need to clear it. I just need to know the basic rule, and do not need a very long answer. Thanks!

depends on your roles, in real street, there is only the respect of the game, son. if you respect the game, you clear it every turnover, son.

Yes. Any time the ball touches any part of the basket (Board, rim, etc.), it needs to be cleared. The only time it doesn't is if the shot is an air ball
