I got a T-Mobile Sidekick in Australia?

Im gonna be in Australia for the next 3 months and i got my T-Mobile Sidekick LX and i dont really wanna buy a new phone, will i be able to access the internet (eg: aim & facebook) seeing as they dont have T-Mobile here.
I understand that the Australian company Telstra is a subsidiary of T-Mobile, so will i be able to go on aim with a Telstra sim card?
 
HI you can't use sidekick lx mobile with telstra until you unlock it from t-mobile .You can easily unlock your phone using sites like MobileUnlockSolutions.com they are providing unlock code for all mobile models ..After purchasing the code visit MobileUnlockGuide.com to get instruction about how to use that code and unlock your phone .After unlocking your phone you can freely use it with any GSM sim ...
