How do you determine the sex of a ball python?

My son just got a ball python as a pet, it is a younger python, and we are trying to figure out how to determine the sex of the snake if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

if it humps your leg, it's probably a male....i think you have to have an expert look at it....

Take your snake to a vet. They can check for you and it should only take a couple of minutes.

You can either have it probed or popped, I do both, but now I generally just pop. Vets will charge you to do this for you - call around your local herp society and see if they can recommend a member that will sex it for your for free. I often meet people to sex their ball pythons for them for free and also teach them how to do it themselves.I'm in metro Atlanta, if you happen to be in this same area.
