"I HATE GAYS"?!?! "They're disgusting"?

I'm a vegetarian. I volunteer for EVERYTHING. I am a Gay Rights activist. A Human Rights activist. I love everyone of all races. Not that they are correlated, i'm just proving to you that I am in no way a judgemental person. However, I cannot say that for my older sister. While I love her, I DETEST her bigotted views. I was walking her to work because we live in a bad area and I was worried for her safety. She is a keen nightclubber and was telling me about her nightout last night. She was in the club bathroom and witnessed two girls, in her words "licking eachother out". Her and he friends screamed at them in disgust and started to kick in the door. God knows why. I replied with "That's disgusting" She answered "Yeah. Ew. Lesbians are disgusting.", I said "No, I mean because they were doing it in a bathroom stall. Not because they were both girls.". She continued to talk in disgust about lesbians/gays, telling me that she hates them. I asked why and she just said that it's disgusting, I replied with "It's no more disgusting than a straight relationship". She scoffed. I asked how she's react is I was a lesbian, would she accept me? She said she would tolerate me, but not accept me. This continued as we walked past a building site. There were 2 or 3 indian men and she made some racist remarks to herself. I questioned her about it again. She brushed it off. I just don't understand it, she has friends who aren't white, yet she says these things. She is normally so lovely to me and others, and she is a vegetarian, yet she doesn't seem to fight for equality. Her friends are racists, so maybe she is trying to fit in with them?? God forbid when she finds out that i'm bisexual. How can I make her realise that she is wrong? I'm sure she wouldn't turn these prejudices into discrimination but her comments still upset me- my best friends are black, asian and others are lesbians. How are we so different??
