Yes, after a 10 year period of the biggest clubs spending their way to the top, accepting bad credit from TV companies with no future (remember ITV digital?), and basically a spendthrift attitude prevalent throughout the ranks of the professional game, is the current climate of looming insolvency for many clubs a way of saying, 'you've had your fun, now pay for it through the nose!!!'

Players, agents, managers, clubs, chairmen.... all have something to answer for! And that's before we even get to those bloody ball boys!!! YES BALL BOYS!!! :/

Yes, I'm aware it's not just English football. Real Madrid aren't exactly paying peanuts, and Italy had their era of decadence for sure, and well publicised! But surely the phenomenon is more prominent here?

So my question... Was all that was done in aid of creating 'the best league in the world', of major detriment to our national game?
