Sending 500 sms / Text Messages with Android Phone?

I have about 500 people that I send a sms on a regular basis. I will be getting an android phone soon and wanted to know how long it will take to send to all 500 people. I will place them in a group? Is these an app that will speed up the process? Any suggestions?
