You definitely can't go wrong with the overall picture and sound quality you'll be enjoying when watching a blue-ray; this is especially true when it comes to The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Unfortunately, the blue-ray set released on April of this year only features the theatrical editions of the films and not the extended versions.
