What were you doing 12yrs ago when McGwire broke Roger Maris 61 homeruns record?

I was sitting in my room watching the game & 12 yrs later i am doing the same watching another game..The more things change the more they stay the same..

    What about you?

I wasn't really a huge baseball fan at the time (I was 10), but I remember watching it on TV with my parents who aren't baseball fans at all.

I was watching it on TV, it was amazing (at the time) but knowing what I do now I've almost erased it from my memory bank.

Like many others, I was watching; unlike them, I was enjoying the spectacle...

To me Maris still holds the record. McGwire sucks.

I was 9. I was swimming at our local swim club when one of the life guards came over the intercom and said that McGwire had broken the record.

i was working on my thesis "Juiced baseball and strange occurrences". I was looking at players being injured after having great seasons. Mo Vaughn Kirby Puckett and Ken caminitti . I didn't have a clue it was all about steroids or know steroids were and had infested the game.
